Travelers are fully responsible for any additional expenses incurred prior to joining the tour.  JwF strongly suggests that all travelers purchase travel insurance with provisions to cover unexpected expenses.

By declining to purchase travel protection, you acknowledge and accept liability for any cancellation penalties, damages and/or out-of-pocket expenses incurred.  You also acknowledge and accept responsibility for arranging and paying for any treatment in the face of a medical emergency while traveling.

ROOMMATE POLICY
In the event that a traveler books double occupancy, JwF will attempt to assign a roommate for those who want the companionship and/or cost savings of traveling double occupancy. Most often, we can find roommates for everyone, but not always. If we cannot find a roommate for you, you will be subject to paying the single rate, if you still wish to take the tour. Also, in most cases, the two people get along well, but sometimes there is friction. This is a chance you take by booking in the double occupancy category. We cannot guarantee compatibility. If you are unwilling to take this chance, you might be well served by paying the Single Supplement and having a room to yourself.  If you book in the double occupancy category, you can still try to find your own roommate within the group.
If the preferred or assigned roommate cancels prior to tour departure, and another roommate is not available, you will be offered the Single Supplement, if you decide to go, or be subject to the cancellation fee, if you decide to cancel.  For this reason, we strongly recommend that both roommates purchase a Travel Protection Policy.  If your assigned or preferred roommate cancels for reasons covered by the insurance policy, the insurance company may reimburse you for the Single Supplement or for your cancellation fee, whichever applies.
